Spicy Cauliflower Bites with Sweet Dipping Sauce
Spicy Cauliflower Bites are an absolute joy to have as a light snack or appetizer. The spicy, savory and sweet flavors are simply delightful when the seasoned and fried cauliflower is coated in a homemade sweet and savory Asian-inspired sauce.
The maple ginger soy glaze brings the perfect balance of heat, umami and sweetness, making each bite irresistibly flavorful. The natural caramelization of maple syrup creates a glossy, sticky coating, while fresh lime juice adds a zesty brightness. Ginger brings a spicy kick that lingers just enough to keep you coming back for more.
The Asian-inspired glaze clings to the crispy cauliflower without making it soggy. Brushing it on right before serving ensures that every bite has that addictive sweet-heat balance. Try this Spicy Cauliflower Bites recipe on game day, at a casual get-together or simply as a satisfying snack; these cauliflower bites will disappear in no time!
Directions:
- Heat oven to 450°.
- Line a baking sheet with foil and coat with cooking spray. Reserve.
- Using a food processor, add bread and process until coarse, resembling panko breadcrumbs. Transfer to baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes or until all crumbs are golden brown. Reserve in medium bowl.
- In a separate medium bowl, combine baking mix, almond milk, pepper, cayenne and garlic. Whisk until batter is smooth.
- Dip cauliflower pieces into batter, shaking off any excess. Roll in breadcrumbs until completely coated. Place cauliflower on baking sheet.
- Bake cauliflower for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Garnish with green onions, lime zest and cilantro.
- Meanwhile, make the sauce. Combine maple syrup, soy sauce, lime juice and ginger. Whisk until combined. Serve sauce alongside cauliflower.
TIP: Squeeze a lime on top of cauliflower when it comes out of the oven for a little extra zip!
